In honor of our 5oth episode, the Society would like to share some of what we have learned from our polls! We didn’t start adding polls until our fifth episode, and we sometimes make small adjustments to the wording, so these results are not exactly scientific. Nonetheless, here’s how people voted as of Tuesday, September 5th, 2017.
By far, the episode to receive the most votes was The Gibbering Things! This episode of The Shadow received 21 votes, 14 of which dubbed the story a timeless classic! The Haunting Hour’s Murder Wears a Strange Mask received the second most votes, a total of 14. Half of these votes indicated the show was historically significant or just fun, but doesn’t stand the test of time. The show to garner the third most votes was Ghost Hunt from Suspense! Out of 13 votes, 11 called the episode a timeless classic.
Ghost Hunt, Northern Lights, Casting the Runes, and The Horn each had 80% or more of their votes declare these esteemed episodes as timeless classics. Both Man Size in Marble and Spawn of the Sub Human had 30% or more of their votes rate the shows as, “…not worth revisiting. It definitely does not stand the test of time.”
In regard to the question “Should we perform ‘The Day Sinatra Got Fat’ live?” we received 10 votes, of which seven encouraged us to “Do it. That would be hilarious,” and three votes warned, “No, for the love of all that is holy! Don’t do it!” So apparently, that’s in our future…
Our most profound thanks to everyone who has taken the time to share their thoughts with us through reviews, comments, and/or voting in our polls. We love hearing from you!
