Really liked this episode, despite the absence of Agnes Moorhead as Margo Lane. The actress playing Margo barely had anything to do in this episode, which was unusual, Margo was always very much a part of the action in the Shadow series, so Moorhead’s presence was definitely missed. That being said, Orson Welles gave the best, and most intense take on the Shadow as a character—even the episodes he did were much tougher, darker, and seemed to acknowledge on social problems more than the later ones did. And Eric is completely wrong about this episode! “Not a great Shadow”? This is one of the greatest Shadow episodes of all time! It’s a timeless classic! It’s probably fortunate, for the sake of civility, that I hadn’t listened to your commentary yet before the Patreon happy hour Tuesday, or it might have turned into more of an angry hour (or at least a disgruntled hour).
