The gauntlet has been thrown! Our mysterious listener Sam claimed we were too afraid to go to the darkest corners of the Listener Library for “Tanglefoot,” an episode of Quiet, Please! The time has come to prove our courage! The story features Buck, a plumber who discovers that he doesn’t know as much about flies as he thought he did. Are Herbie’s wild stories about flies true? Is flypaper effective? Are you brave enough to listen to this with us? Listen for yourself and find out! Then vote and let us know what you think!
When they were talking about the smell of flypaper, and how only the stupid ones get caught, I really thought they were more going to focus on that; showing us some scenario where a person was lured into a tangle foot like trap by some supernatural higher force. I was a bit disappointed.
Further, this story highlights my one problem with the Thing On The Fourble Board: there’s no foreshadowing to the ending. There’s no indication that the narrator was the kind of person to fall into this obsession and villainy. It just seems to not make sense.
